Electrical
- Run tons of it.
- Any time that you are working with aluminum wire, you must coat all connections with conductive grease such as Ideal brand Noalox. Failure to do so will result in a connection failure due to corrosion, and a hazardous condition which could result in fire or electrical shock.
220
- Plasma
- Welder
- Compressor (outside in soundproof enclosure, possibly sunken or partially sunken?)
- Lathe
- Mill
- Drill Press
Things to ponder
- Storage:
- maybe redo loft for better access and long stock storage out access doors into driveway/carport area
- Upper cabinets rimming shop up to ceiling w/ LED spot/task lighting underneath.
- Lighting
- LED or Fluorescent?
- Have some portable task lights w/ magnifiers etc.
- Heated floor
- Probably electric w/ concrete/self-leveler over it, possibly stain
- Beer fridge, maybe "outside" or sunken somehow w/ tap(s) in convenient location.
- Sink, probably outside.
- Hidden moto-lift in center?
- Computer station
- Double hinged barn doors w/ "lights".
- Want to be able to use as a regular "door" as well, seems reasonable.
- Double hinged will allow opening w/ tighter clearance in front.
- Would like to extend roof out front for added covered working area
- Elevated cross-members and widely spaced vertical supports at far corners.
- Integrate w/ moto-shed
- Moto-shed: integrate riding gear storage
- helmets
- gloves
- jackets/pants
- boots
- Pour concrete drive-way.
- Figure out how to minimize elevation change from driveway to workshop and moto-shed but still deal w/ drainage.
- Compressor and compressed air line
- Put compressor "outside" in an insulated "room" of it's own, possibly sunken or partially so.
- Welding/plasma station.
- Materials storage:
- Misc wood
- Sheet metal and plywood
- Misc metal
Flooring
Anti Fatigue Mats
- Look into what they use at Trader Joe's
- Ask Jarrett what he recommends for gym flooring.
- Stanley Antifatigue Mats at Amazon, sounds like the tops might not be ultra durable but maybe could layer something on top.
- Wilmar Antifatigue Mats at Amazon.
- Cumulus Pro Antifatigue Mats at Amazon.
- Granger Options for antifatigue mats
