- I'd like to find out what year made a single sided monoshock rear, hopefully find an R90 version to save on insurance.
- Wikipedia article on when the monolever came out:
- In early 1983, BMW introduced a 987 cc, in-line four-cylinder, water-cooled fuel injected engine to the European market, the K100. The K series comes with a simplified and distinctive rear suspension, a single-sided swingarm. (In 1985 the traditionally powered boxer R80RT touring bike received this monolever rear suspension system and in 1987 the R100RT received it).
Misc
- KTM's are like nympho strippers with a coke habit - huge fun to ride but no fun to take care of.
2011 Adventure Touring Shootout: mostly bigger bikes...
Farkles:
- Motion Pro Curved Tire Irons x2
- Tubliss 2x21 & 2x18
- Fork Bleeders:
- Works Connection Fork Bleeders $25
- KTM Fork Bleeders$35, look lower profile than the Works above.
- RackLoops $59, nice looking but probably make something similar... so, good idea.
- Remus Stainless header w/out CAT for AdventureR $664
- Fastway foot pegs
Lighting
- Tuff Lites $70 by ExtremeDualSport, probably the tuffest and most durable, generally excellent reviews and looks like a good design, people mount them front and rear. at Rocky Mountain $70
- Tusk LED Flasher Relay, $15 at RockyMountain.
- Tusk LED MiniStalks, $25 at RockyMountain. Simple and affordable, would probably be fine but likely need to seal them up w/ silicone.
- Tusk Round LEDs, $20 could be an easy/cheap option, similar to the ETrailer units below for $7 tho... not sure how if/how much they differ other than the lens color.
- Tusk Indicator Lights, $5
- ETrailer $7. Simple little water proof light, clear lens w/ amber LED.
- Baja Designs has some nice stuff:
- Flush Mount rears, $25
- Stalk style fronts, $53 on their site but $45 on Amazon via Powersport Superstore.
- AdMoreLighting $80 integrate into the hand guards, little pricey tho.
Repair kits:
- Leatherman
- JB Weld
- bailing wire
- tire irons (Aerostitch ti)
- Aerostitch axle nut wrenches that werk w/ the ti tire irons
- GiantLoop Rubber Boa Strap $25
- GiantLoop Pronghorn straps$16-20
- Trailmaster Crashbar Bags $142
- KTM Bad Fuel Dongle $110
- Kaoko Throttle Lock $137
- Tank Grip $50
- 1190 Dirt wheels
- Dirt tires
- brake rotors
- rear sprocket
- Scotts Damper and frame post or possibly from Scotts below but seems like KTMTwins has it cheaper..
- 500:
- dirt tires
- street tires
- tool/tube fender bags
- 5gal gas tank, pretty sure this is the right one.
